Dance has long been a passion in my life and teaching others to dance is something I love. I have been involved in dancing for many years starting from the early age of five, covering many forms from Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Ballroom, Freestyle, Latin American, Rock n Roll plus many more. All this led to performing in many shows and choreographing routines.

I wished to take the dancing further so I concentrated on the Ballroom and Latin American and at the age of 17, I trained to teach and studied the theory and technique of dance this led to a string of qualifications and diplomas. I had a busy calendar for many years helping out in other dance schools as an instructor.

I am often asked what my favourite dance is, I do love all of them, I have to reply the one that I am dancing at the time, that's my favourite. Having said that, the Rumba is fabulous along side the Waltz, both beautiful dances. The Waltz with its poise and grace. The Rumba with its passion and freedom of movement.

Although I have always dreamed of running my own dance school for years, it was a car accident that bump-started my new venture literally. Fortunately I was not seriously injured, but my injuries were enough to give me a wake up call and realise life's too short. So I decided to go for it and Dance In Time was then formed. This is definately what I was meant to do. At the moment I have two teachers and an amazing team of staff, who share my passion and enthusiasm for dance, I believe once you get the bug it's quite infectious. I was once asked what makes a good teacher I firmly believe in teaching the foundation of the dance first a bit like running before you can walk and my former teacher always taught me "its not what you do, it's how you do it". To sum everything up I always remember a little verse I read for a recipe for a good teacher,

3 cups of intellect

¼ cup of patience

1tsp of leadership

Mix together with passion and enthusiasm

Add a dash of learning and comprehension.

Then blend together until the mixture is smooth followed with lots of UMPF

We have four current classes up and running with a lovely group of pupils in all four classes.

Please feel free to have a look around our new website. It's never too late to learn.

Best Wishes
